Bruce James:
Bruce James began his photographic career in San Francisco as an apprentice to established food photographer Michael LaMotte. After gaining experience in food photography, Bruce moved to New York City where he assisted many well-known photographers such as: Arthur Beck, Colin Cooke and Matthew Klein. During this time, he landed a full-time position shooting for Conde Nast as an in-house photographer. After several years in New York, Bruce decided to move back to California and work in Los Angeles where he became an associate photographer for Burke/Triolo Productions. Opening his own studio in 2001, Bruce has shot and continues to shoot for many food and beverage leaders such as Killians Beer, Ketel One, Dole, Haagen-Dazs. Teleflora, Carls Jr. and more. In 2006, Bruce formed James and James Productions with the combined efforts of his wife, Jennifer James. During this time, James and James Productions grew to include lifestyle, people and now motion.
Jennifer James:
In 1994, Jennifer James attended Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara. During her three years of education at Brooks, she majored in Illustration and Advertising Photography. After receiving her BA in 1997, Jennifer moved to Los Angeles and accepted an internship position at Burke/Triolo Productions where she met Bruce. In 2006, Bruce and Jennifer combined their strengths and formed James and James Productions.
Ara Kotchian:
Ara Kotchian attended the University of Maryland, obtaining a BS in Computer Science. After moving to Los Angeles in 2003, Ara decided to combine his technical skills with photography and motion. Deciding that a specialization in post-production seemed like a natural fit, Ara began his career as a Digital Tech and Post Production Artist with Bruce James in 2004. Presently, he does retouching/post-production work for James and James Productions along with editing and colorizing for motion.
